Snow break….. December 19, 2008

Tags: , ,

It’s snowmageddon!  So I won’t be shooting for the next two weeks.  (well,  that’s not really the reason…. it’s Christmas, plus I’m going to Boston for a while.  I just wanted to use the term “snowmageddon”)  I’m now booking the third week of January, so if you’re looking for a booking, (that sounds cool!), shoot me an email.

Happy holidays all!  See you in 2009.

The two kinds of models……. December 12, 2008

There really are two breeds.  From my experience, about 80% of models out there are hard working professionals who show up and work with you to create the best images.  Those are the ones who have fun and make this job as enjoyable as it is.

Then there are those who make you wait an hour after setting up your studio… then call you to tell you they have a headache and can’t make it.

Guess which one I was supposed to shoot with this morning?

On the plus side, those ones make you appreciate the good ones all the more.  So to the Lucys and Heathers and Tinas and Denises of the world…..  thanks for being awesome.

All work and no play….. December 9, 2008

So now that the studio is up and running, I went ahead and started booking shoots left right and centre.  Not exactly the best thing to do in the overly social weeks just before the Christmas break.  Thursday, I have a head shot session in the evening, Friday, I have a model creative shoot in the morning, Saturday, I have the shoot for the prodution poster of “Nine – The Musical”, Sunday I have rehearsal, Tuesday morning I have a maternity shoot, and Wednesday is my wife’s birthday.  (after much thought, I decided not to book anything for that day)  This of course is all on top of several parties, and a trip to the optometrist to get my eyes checked and have a midlife crisis.

My new Profoto lights however, are a thing of beauty, and I am itching to use them every chance I can get.

So here it is.  The new site is finally online.  Have a look around and feel free to let me know what you think.  The main thing that needs to be said, here and now, is that you would not be reading this were it not for the hard work and friendship of the lovely and talented Michael Hainsworth, business reporter to the stars.  While my knowledge of computers is good, my web design skills are fungal at best.  Whereas Mr. H whipped this site up within days of a Danforth cafe brainstorming session.  And for that, he gets about as much thanks as one guy can muster.

The site is getting an extreme makeover right now and thus, if you’ve found your way here, you’re probably seeing strange things.  It will all be up and running in the next few days.
